Frequently Asked Questions
How often to bathe my dog?
Oily-skin breeds (Cocker, Bulldog): every 15 days. Normal skin: every 20-30 days. Excess baths strip natural oils and cause dermatitis. Frequent brushing reduces bath need.
Can I take a 2-month-old puppy to the pet shop?
Not before the full vaccine schedule (around 4 months). Before that: dry bath at home or with a vet. Pet shops have many animals and high contamination risk.
Does my cat need professional grooming?
Short-hair cats usually don't. Long-hair cats (Persian, Ragdoll, Maine Coon) need a bath every 45-60 days and daily brushing. Always at a place that accepts cats (less common).
Does hot drying hurt?
Yes. Cage drying with uncontrolled temperature has caused several deaths. Prefer table drying with the groomer watching. If the shop insists on the cage: look for another.
Is a 'shaved' summer cut good?
Depends. In undercoat breeds (Golden, Husky, Shepherd), NO — the coat protects from solar radiation. In single-coat breeds (Poodle, Shih Tzu), can be done in moderation.
